Who is responsible for your information?

Simo’s Gift Boutique is operated by Simona-Alexandra Chirila, a sole trader. For UK data protection purposes, Simona-Alexandra Chirila is the data controller.

Information we may collect

When you contact us, we may receive your name, telephone number, email address and the contents of your message. When you place an order, we also receive the delivery and billing details, order information and correspondence required to process and support your purchase.

If you create an account, Clerk securely manages sign-in and provides the website with an account identifier, your email address and, when available, your name. We use this information to secure your account, show your order history and check eligibility for account offers such as WELCOME10. Simo’s Gift Boutique does not receive or store your account password.

If you leave a verified review, we store your rating, review, chosen display name and the order and product used to verify the purchase. Your rating, review and display name may be shown publicly after moderation; your email address and order details are not displayed.

If you apply to the Simo’s Ambassador Programme, we store the application details you provide, including your social profiles, main platform, follower estimate, country and application answers. If approved, we also keep your Ambassador Code, programme status, attributed eligible orders, commission adjustments and manual payment history. Application details are not displayed publicly.

If you like or save a product, we store the product reference and your choice. Account favourites and likes are linked to your account; guest likes use a random browser identifier. We use like totals to understand product interest. You can withdraw a like or remove a favourite using the same button.

Card information is entered directly into Square’s secure payment form. Square processes the payment, and Simo’s Gift Boutique does not receive or store your full card number or security code.

Why we use your information

If you choose Save address at checkout, we store that delivery address against your account to fill it in on future visits. You can update or delete the saved address at checkout. Deleting it does not delete delivery details held in existing order records.

• To provide your account, order history and eligible account offers.
• To manage cancellations, returns, refunds and complaints.
• To keep accounting and transaction records required by law.
• To prevent misuse and protect the security of the shop.
• To invite, verify, moderate and display customer reviews.
• To assess Ambassador applications, administer Ambassador Codes and commission, communicate programme decisions, and prevent referral misuse.

Depending on the reason, we rely on taking steps at your request or performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business.

Who may receive your information?

We only share information where it is needed, for example with Square for payment processing and order records, Royal Mail for delivery, Clerk for customer account authentication, OpenAI for website hosting, technical service providers, professional advisers, or public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

If you contact us through WhatsApp, WhatsApp processes information under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, to deal with disputes, and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Messages that are no longer needed are deleted securely.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy in a portable format. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first if you would like us to help with a privacy concern.
